I am looking to take a tour of an iron mine with my son. We are also looking to camp & hike in the area (iron range I assume). Any pointers/must sees you know about would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Chris

Hi Chris,
since we have quite a bit of information on mine tours, as well as camping and hiking opportunities nearby, I think it would be best for you to communicate directly with one of our travel counselors. Our travel counselors are skilled at searching our vast database to come up with specific information to best fit your needs. They can either offer information over the phone, or can send a customized Journey travel planner, via mail, email or fax, containing everything you’ll need to plan a memorable trip with your son. Brochures can also be sent if you provide a mailing address. Our travel counselors can be reached by phone at 1-888-TOURISM (1-888-868-7476) or by email at Explore.Mn@state.mn.us
To get you started, click here to view a list of mine tours and related historic sites.
We hope you enjoy exploring Minnesota!

We are campers. Just returned from a beautiful little campground, Sunnybrook, right in the city of Wadena. It has a good bike and walking trail as well. Kids under 16 can fish free at the small lake in the park.

I really enjoy the fishing report - now I wish Explore Minnesota would do something like the fishing report for hunters. As an freelance outdoor writer and an avid hunter this would be a great asset. Living in NE minnesota I sometimes have trouble finding out what’s happening in other parts of our great state.

Minnesota is a great state to camp. I love Bear Head Lake State Park and the BWCA. I hunt wildlife and shoot it with my camera.
Northern Minnesota is the best. Keep up the good work on your info.
