The blockbuster exhibit “Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination” will make its final U.S. stop at the Science Museum of Minnesota in downtown St. Paul June 13 through August 24, 2008. The Star Wars films were hugely popular, and this exhibit includes more than 80 costumes, models and props from all six films, including the starship, Darth Vader’s menacing black attire, a Chewbacca costume, an R2-D2 robot and a yoda puppet.

Visitors can board a hovercraft to experience levitation and meet C-3PO in the Robot Theater. For an additional fee, they can climb into the cockpit replica of the Millennium Falcon for a multi-media presentation that explores our galaxy. In engineering labs, they can build landspeeders and program robots; the exhibit includes numerous hands-on activities.

Tickets go on sale in April, and are for a specific date and time, so reservations are recommended. Admission is $17 for adults and $14.50 for those aged 4-12 and 60 and older. The museum is open daily, including evenings Thursdays through Saturdays. For more information, call 651-221-9444 or visit www.smm.org.

The ticket information you posted conflicts with the prices on the smm.org web site. Can you explain?

    Amanda,

Thanks for letting us know of this discrepancy. This article was written for the Minnesota Explorer travel newspaper some time ago, and it is possible that the information we received at that time has changed. The information currently posted by the Science Museum should be assumed to be accurate. We will remove the specific pricing information in this article, and a link to information on this particular exhibit follows:
